Breaking News: Obama Wins North Carolina

MSNBC and Fox News (Clinton team's network of choice) just called North Carolina for Obama-exactly when the polls closed.  This is great news because it indicates a significant victory for Obama.

Now to just keep Indiana close...

Re: Breaking News: Obama Wins North Carolina (1.33 / 3)

not really, because blacks are a much smaller group to work with than blacks compared to whites. Group think is higher amongst smaller groups, so getting them would be harder for Clinton than working whites with Obama

Re: Breaking News: Obama Wins North Carolina (none / 0)

So Barack did better w/ the 12% population of working blacks in Penn vs. the 21% population of working blacks in NC?  Right?

And what is Hillary's percentage among white women above 40?  Above 65?

Ah!  So black voters are prone to groupthink.  Generally, you're saying, African Americans have trouble thinking for themselves.  Thanks for clearing that up.

Doesn't count. It's insignificant. It's not even a state.

SUSA isn't an exit poll. SUSA is THE POLL. SUSA's word is holy, and shall not be doubted by the weakling blogger lest they be stricken down in embarrassment...
...with the exception of today, apparently.

Re: Breaking News: Obama Wins North Carolina (2.00 / 1)

I saw literally dozens of Hillary supporters crowing about how Hillary was going to WIN NC, or at the very least, keep it close.

Where are ya now?  Hmm?

Re: Breaking News: Obama Wins North Carolina (2.00 / 2)

Talking about how NC doesn't count because it has too man black people / Obama was always going to win it / won't be in play in the general election / is full of elitists / "doesn't get it" / is not as important as Indiana / shut up Clinton will win with magic.

well good for Obama (none / 0)

interesting...you can tell the media is breathing a sigh of relief...and calling it a "rout" is kind of funny...we will see how close it gets.

Notice how Obama is being soundly defeated in indiana, when he was boasting of a win or a "tie breaker", and no one is calling it a rout?

by 4justice on Tue May 06, 2008 at 07:47:05 PM EST

Re: well good for Obama (none / 0)

It's probably the difference between the 30% win we're anticipating for Obama in North Carolina, and the 4% win we're anticipating for Hillary in Indiana.

So it kinda makes sense that yet another tiny victory for Hillary isn't being called a "rout" by anyone, but yet another huge victory by Obama is called such.

Re: well good for Obama (none / 0)

Difference is in Indiana, the vast majority of the remainder of the precincts that haven't reported is heavily, heavily AA which Obama is carrying 90%+.

The majority of Hillary won districts are already in.

They must have gone into hiding. Man. Obama is going to destroy her in this state.

And last night all you heard was TaylorD going around acting smug like Senator Clinton was going to win it.

And it is, as I said it would be. Blowout.

Re: Breaking News: Obama Wins North Carolina (none / 0)

I seem to recall many Obama supporters saying congratulations when Clinton won Pennsylvania, but there are no such congratulations for North Carolina.

Where's the love?
